Control of Regulatory Networks
Control of Regulatory Networks
The challenge to be addressed in the CoReNe project is the search for principles underlying gene regulation with a focus on the action of non-coding RNAs.
A collaborative approach closely interconnecting the theoretical work supported by systems biologists, bioinformaticians, mathematicians, and computer-scientists in a Systems Cell Biology platform coupled tightly with experimental groups generating data and providing knowledge for selected "reference models" of regulatory networks.
Efficient Modelling of Geometrical Structures
Design and Analysis of New Algorithms
The project deals with the analysis of discontinuities in digital images. In particular, we are interested in the design and mathematical analysis of algorithms for the adaptive approximation of geometrical features in images by a combination of segmentation and regression methods, with a strong emphasis on computational efficiency. Due to the geometric information inherent in the approximation, the newly developed algorithms serve as the basis for new feature-oriented methods for denoising, compression, pattern recognition or interpolation/resampling problems.
